The Geek's Bad Boy Billionaire Page 15
She laughed, glancing over to where her gorgeous white silk dress hung, waiting for her to slip it on over her lacy white lingerie. In just a few minutes she’d walk onto the beach in her beautiful dress and be joined with Blake forever. But first, there was something she needed to say.
She drew away from him and turned around, ignoring the way his eyes feasted on her barely clad body. “Blake, there’s an equation I need you to help me with,” she said seriously.
He raised one eyebrow, returning his gaze to her face with obvious reluctance. “What’s that?”
“It’s a simple equation, but recently it seems to have changed.” She swallowed. “I keep adding one plus one together and getting three.”
He frowned, not understanding. But when she put her hand to her still-flat belly, his eyes widened. “You don’t mean…?”
She nodded, her heart thudding. He caught her and pulled her against him, burying his face in her hair. For a moment she wasn’t sure whether he was laughing or crying, until he let out a loud whoop of pure joy that was answered by a surge of love so strong she could barely contain it.
She laid her head on his chest, over the tattoo she’d come to know as well as she knew her own body. His arms circled her, holding her tight. Her heartbeat drummed in her ears, and his was a strong, steady beat supporting it. Could she already hear a third, fainter beat, weaving itself into their rhythm?
She let out of sigh of happiness and, as she breathed out, she imagined his paper airplane coming to life under her cheek, as though his tattoo was lifting from his skin into the air. She pictured it soaring away, and with it went every last remnant of hurt from the past, vanishing into the wind. All that was left was their incredible love and the promise of a beautiful future. One they’d get to build together.
